Mr. Brian Carlton, Head of School

Mr. Carlton has had numerous years of educational experience in public education as a music teacher and assistant principal. Starting at St. Louis Public, and later transitioning to Columbus, Mr. Carlton led his middle and elementary school choirs to honors at competitions. In 2006, he helped to found Cornerstone Academy in Westerville, and shared his time as the curriculum specialist for Columbus Preparatory Academy. In 2007, Mr. Carlton accepted his current position as assistant principal at Columbus Preparatory Academy. As a school leader, Mr. Carlton enjoys shaping young minds into successful individuals in which they can provide value to their respective communities.

Mrs. Erin Johnson

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Johnson has been teaching since 2009 after she gradated with an undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education from Purdue University. She began her teaching career at St. Bridget School in Richmond, Virginia as the sixth grade English and Social Studies teacher. She then moved to Columbus and began teaching middle school English at Columbus Preparatory Academy in 2014 and completed her master’s in Educational Administration from Ball State University in 2015. She accepted her current position as Assistant Principal at Columbus Preparatory Academy in 2017 and is excited to work with parents, staff, and students to help create a community of learners in an ever changing world.

Mr. Roy Ohr

Assistant Principal

Roy Ohr has 20 years of educational experiences, ranging from college teaching assistant, music teacher, reading tutor and, most recently, elementary school teacher. He joined Columbus Preparatory Academy back in 2006 as a third grade teacher. During his ten years in the classroom, Mr. Ohr’s classes have exhibited high achievement and have been proud to have been a part of CPA’s rise to academic excellence. Mr. Ohr accepted the position of assistant principal in May of 2017. He is happily married to his wonderful wife, is a proud father of two college-aged children and enjoys spending his time with his family, as well as his three dogs (Izzy, Chewy and Sawyer).
