Devon Simmons and Youssef Abdelrahman each qualified for the African American Recognition Program because of the excellent scores they earned on the recent PSAT test.
In addition, because of her excellent scores, Cloey Mann qualified for the National Hispanic Recognition Program.
Congratulations to these students! We are very proud of them!
One of our very own HS students won an award for her commitment to the community. Caliana Song won the 20 Under 20 award for volunteering at the Hilltop Early Learning Center where she assists during the end-of-the-day pick-up time among other duties. Way to go Caliana!
Congratulations to Mathias Parris, who recently competed in the Ohio Music Education Association competition. The song he played was Sonata in A Major, K.331 Movement #3 “Alla Turca” by MozartHe received a Rating of I (one). Rating I is given to an outstanding performance, with very few technical errors and exemplifying a truly musical expression. This rating should be reserved for the truly outstanding performance.

Learning is Happening in and out of Our Classrooms!
–7th grade is learning about experimental probability!
–In 5th grade students are using the wonderful weather to practice fractions outside!
–5th – 8th grade Science teachers received a Tower Garden in their classrooms in December through a grant program. Seeds were planted the second week of January and their plants are really growing! Through hands-on discovery, students are learning about sustainability and hydroponic gardening. They hope to eventually share the food they grow with the lunch program so everyone can enjoy the fruits of their labor.
–Our first-ever Science Olympiad team earned a 3rd place finish in the Roller Coaster Event for Nicholas and Reyansh! Congrats to the entire team!
